ICSI EU: Connecting Sectors to Foster Innovation Across Europe

Local businesses, innovation hubs, research institutions, and governments across Europe all face similar challenges — from climate change and digital transformation to ageing populations. Tackling these issues requires collaboration across sectors and regions. That’s where ICSI EU (Intensifying Cross-Sectoral Innovation) comes in.

Over the next four years, nine partners from eight European regions — including Pirkanmaa — will work together to identify successful examples of cross-sectoral innovation and support policymakers in reorienting regional policies to foster collaboration and future-proof innovation.

Emphasis on strategic foresight

Strategic foresight is a structured approach to thinking about the future. Rather than predicting what will happen, it helps us explore different possible scenarios and prepare for the challenges and opportunities they may bring. Within ICSI EU, our Policy Learning Expert Group (PLEG) applies this methodology to anticipate future developments and support the improvement of regional innovation policies.

2nd interregional meeting in Bruges

After a successful kick-off in Vienna, it’s time for our 9 partners to meet again. On 2 and 3 December, the partners and their invited stakeholders gather in Bruges (Belgium). Scenic location? Check! Inspiring visits? Check! New ideas? Coming soon!

What’s on the agenda?

Meet our partners from West Flanders
